My eyes - mostly the right one - are still stabbity. They're better when I'm not around any kind of computer, but it still seems to be cropping up at seemingly random times. Will discuss the possibility of sudden onset light sensitivity and what might cause it when I see the opthalmologist tomorrow morning, since that's the only possible pattern I can see. Reading doesn't seem to be the cause, or the captions on TV and the copious amounts of Buffy I've been watching would knock them about too.

The stabbity eyes have had an upside. My stuff (the stuff I've been lugging across the country with me for the last ten months, and which has most recently been in storage, as opposed to my stuff back at the in-law's garage in Perth) finally arrived here on Friday morning, and we've been able to get much of it sorted because I've not been distracted by the computer.

The house now feels a bit more like 'ours' with my bookshelf and desk here. We've been able to display things properly, like the few framed photos, mostly ones of my family and friends and the very cute one of Matt and [profile] syringavulgaris, which is the only framed one he has. There are candles and silly cow figurines everywhere (silly cow figurines supplied by Matt; my yellow fish with green spots and the ladybug are still in Perth...), and Matt's Buddha statue is perched atop the red embroidered cloth my mother brought me from India. I have the jewelry box Cam gave me for my 21st with his wedding rings in it, and there's a bottle of the very nice Riesling that's been weighing down my suitcase sitting in the fridge.

The extra desk has also meant we've been able to rearrange the computer storage system - we had four (active) machines upstairs, and the iMac and my lapdog were on the same desk. The iMac is now downstairs on 'my' desk and hooked up to the speakers so it can be used as a music beastie.

I feel like all the pieces of my life are finally starting to slot together a bit, and the melding of our stuff has solidified that. Plus, you know. Four months in and I've domesticated him.

Mwuhuhuha.
