Am now safely moved, though I wish I'd picked a day where the maximum temp was going to be above nine degrees celcius in which to do it. One of my new housemates came over with his trailer, loaded all the heavy stuff, and then another helped us set it up in my room.

House seems good thus far; very animal enabled. I haven't seen the two dogs yet, but the cats have certainly been making their presence felt. One of them has a penchant for climbing - preferably people and preferably in the middle of the night. Better still if they're asleep to begin with, and of course it only enhances the challenge if you have to open a closed bedroom door first. Then, to facilitate confusion, he runs rings around the person's head, including stepping on their neck and taking detours under the blankets.

Having been told earlier in the night that the kitchen has a mouse problem (there's one living in the heating vent for the dishwasher, apparently), I initially thought I was dealing with a rather large rodent with an unusually high gloss coat. Then my sleepy brain kicked in and reminded me that mice generally don't purr.

Mum arrives today, so I'll be spending much of the next few days with her, doing mobility type stuff and then just relaxing. It'll be good to see her, and hopefully it'll help me to feel a bit more settled.
