Okay. So, the weekend.
After the gift shopping, we went home and I did the gift wrapping - a task Cam abhorrs. I tend to be the person who takes care of buying and wrapping most of our Christmas haul, and birthdays aren't any different.
Then we went to Oktoberfest, which I enjoyed as much as I ever enjoy being in a noisy area with lots of people and multiple things happening at once. In those situaitons, I'm happiest just talking to people one on one, but it's hard to arrange that sometimes. I had a few good conversations, though, and spent the rest of the time watching people either playing pool or doing irreversible psychological damage to a cat.
I swear, MouseCat would be a dumb blonde if he were human. Someone had a laser pointer, and he spent much of the night chasing it in circles, up and down hallways and around people. Even after he figured out that the humans were controlling the Very Busy Red Spot, he still managed to look utterly shocked every time it disappeared in front of his eyes.
Baiting cats is fun.
We slept on a couch that night, and then stumbled over to Patrick's for yum cha and 'Donnie Darko', which is a very well done film, particularly given that it shows just how far Patrick Swayze's star has fallen. I think I'd have to see it again to pick up some of the bits from the book - the writing was too small and sometimes on funny backgrounds - but I got the general gist of it and enjoyed the movie very much.
Came back home and crashed in front of the tv until Jamie and Marie arrived to pick up stuff. Delivered our fifth birthday present of the weekend to Jamie. Then we went out and got 'Kill Bill Vol 2', which I watched last night. It's very different to the first film, and I can't really compare them to each other. The several people who said there was less violence and more plot and character development in this film were right. I don't know, I enjoyed the second film, but not as much as the first for some reason. Perhaps I found it a tad predictable in places. I'm probably still a bit too screwed up by the whole weekend to think about that one movie clearly, actually.
