So I'm basking in the glowing glow of dodgy uni library lights, listening to two people who have never heard the phrase 'inside voices' before (...coming from a deaf chick, that says a lot) and trying to find my way around a keyboard with keys that stick in odd, unfamiliar places. I had forgotten what it was like not to have a net connection at home.
It's just now occurring to me that if my whinges du jour have gotten this banal then I must be doing basically okay. And it seems I am, plus or minus a few things. I'm obviously still emotionally all over the place (one minute I'm deeply sad, the next minute I'm back in the throes of the highly inconvenient distraction crush I've got), but the new place seems to be fine.
I would like a hot shower that doesn't cut out after two minutes, but the agent finally got convinced when she visited today that it is a Real Problem and I am not a Precious Tenant. She's such an arse-kicker I'm hoping this will be resolved soon. I would also like a curtain that pulled across the whole way on my big window-that-is-nearly-a-wall, but that's not much of a problem since it's just a small gap and I think the opposite building only has hazy bathroom windows facing into mine.
Moving was fine. I've been making a conscious effort to try and catch up with people where I can. Speaking of which: those of you locals on my friends list who haven't heard from me (I'll miss someone if I try to do a list) are welcome to get in touch and poke me to Do Stuff. No home number yet, but I am checking email and - gasp! - keeping my mobile charged.
More when I have an actual working net connection of my very own. Oh, to be a Real Girl...

The hot water issue seems to have been a pretty simple thing to resolve, actually. They found out that the tank isn't very big, so just cutting waaaay back on the amount of water I use gives me a much nicer shower. Now if I could just fix the problems with the tap...

Um, how about the weekend after this one? I can do either the Saturday or Sunday at this stage.

That's what you get for waiting a few days to reply!

Seriously, sorry to hear you're ill again. Let me know when things get a little better and we'll catch up.

Since the date you suggested isn't for 10 days, what about we schedule it tentatively - I'm likely to be better or at least not catching by then... we can confirm closer to the day?
I miss you heaps and have been thinking mega *hugs* to you always.
