I often find myself buying kids books just for me, just because they are so beautiful. The illustrations cause the book to go beyond mere picture-book territory, they become more like art in a form that our children can relate to and that we are not afraid to touch and get close to.

Methinks this Shaun Tan chappie is worth looking into.
